Uber has just reached a settlement with the family of a six-year-old girl who was hit and killed by an Uber driver in San Francisco on New Year’s Eve back in 2013, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The settlement terms have not been disclosed, but given the young age of the victim, the tragic facts of the case, and the high-profile nature of the story, the financial payout may have been significant.

Prior to settling, the young girl’s family had filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Uber, alleging multiple accounts of negligence. The driver was, however, logged into the Uber system at the time and was able to receive requests for pickup.
